STAYC’s Sieun has successfully completed her first musical, receiving praise for her emotional depth and expressive performance.

Sieun concluded her run in the musical Seopyeonje, which was staged from April 30 through June 8.

Based on the acclaimed short story by Lee Cheong-jun, Seopyeonje follows the journey of a family of traditional Korean singers, exploring the meaning of life through music and the artistic value of pansori. The production portrays themes of family conflict, personal choices, and reconciliation.

In the production, Sieun took on the role of Song-hwa, a true artist who confronts her destiny while pursuing the path she believes in. She earned favorable reviews for her delicate emotional acting and expressive performance, portraying Song-hwa’s journey of discovering her identity and growing as an artist through music. Drawing on her experience as a child actress, Sieun delivered a stable and compelling performance that added depth to the character’s narrative.

Reflecting on her first musical experience, Sieun shared through her agency, “Seopyeonje came into my life like a gift at a time when it was difficult for me to have confidence in myself. It taught me to turn fear into courage and uncertainty into a willingness to take on new challenges. Through Song-hwa, I discovered how captivating live theater can be and how special it is to connect with an audience on stage.”

She continued, “From the preparation process to every moment on stage, every compliment, word of encouragement, and constructive criticism became a source of motivation and growth. I sincerely thank all of my fellow cast members, everyone who made Seopyeonje possible, and all those who supported both the production and my portrayal of Song-hwa.”

Meanwhile, STAYC is preparing to launch their 2026 fan concert tour, STAY CLOSER. The tour will begin with performances at Blue Square Woori Bank Hall in Seoul on August 22 and 23, before continuing to Manila on September 20, Macau on September 26, Taipei on October 11, Perth on October 14, Melbourne on October 16, and Sydney on October 18.
