STAYC’s Sieun Takes on Her First Musical Challenge with Seopyeonje, Showcasing Solid Stage Presence

STAYC’s Sieun is set to make her musical theater debut.
On the 2nd, her agency High Up Entertainment announced, “Sieun of STAYC has been cast in the musical Seopyeonje, which will open on April 30 at the BBCH Hall of Gwanglim Arts Center.”
The musical Seopyeonje is based on the short story of the same name by renowned author Lee Cheong-jun. Through the journey of a family of traditional singers, the production explores the meaning of life embodied in music and the value of art itself. Centered on pansori, it portrays familial conflict, difficult choices, and eventual reconciliation.
Sieun will play the role of Song-hwa, a true artist who stands up against her destiny and pursues her own path. Song-hwa is a character who builds her identity and life through music, growing into an artist through years of wandering and separation. Despite countless hardships, she reaches artistic transcendence through her voice, encapsulating the emotional core and message of the story.
Through her activities with STAYC, Sieun has proven her strong abilities both in Korea and on global stages, earning wide support from fans around the world. Drawing on her acting experience as a former child actress, she plans to portray Song-hwa’s emotional journey with a contemporary sensibility on stage.
This production marks Sieun’s first musical appearance since her debut, further raising anticipation for how she will showcase the full range of her abilities as both an artist and an actress.
Meanwhile, the musical Seopyeonje, starring Sieun of STAYC, will run from April 30 to July 19 at the BBCH Hall of Gwanglim Arts Center.
