STAYC Sieun made a lasting impression with her visuals and hosting skills as MC of the 2025 KBS Children’s Song Contest.
On May 5, Sieun took the stage as MC for the 2025 KBS Children’s Song Contest, which aired on KBS 1TV. She co-hosted alongside announcer Park Chul-kyu and young actress Oh Eun-seo.
First held in 1989, the KBS Children’s Song Contest is Korea’s leading children’s song festival. It introduces new original songs every year, nurturing healthy emotional growth and creativity in children. As MC, Sieun delivered a smooth, heartfelt performance and helped create a magical Children’s Day experience with a stage full of youthful spirit.
Sieun opened the event with a celebratory performance alongside Park Chul-kyu, Oh Eun-seo, and the Yedong Children’s Choir, singing “Fanfare,” “Children’s Day Song,” and “Songs Are a Magic Bus.” During the show, she shared a touching memory: “Back in 2014, I participated in the KBS Green Song Festival with my dad and younger sibling,” drawing warm attention.
Sieun also interviewed the finalist choirs, composers, and lyricists, highlighting key points to look out for and building anticipation for the performances. Her kind words and encouraging presence helped ease the nerves of young performers. After each stage, she seamlessly turned to the judges for feedback, guiding the show with poised transitions.
Her ability to empathize and engage with the audience added an extra layer of fun. Commenting on the performance of “One Spoon,” she said, “The sweet and salty charm of the two friends’ harmony was so delightful. I think kids would really enjoy singing it together with their best friends,” while naturally drawing enthusiastic responses from the crowd.
After successfully wrapping up the 2025 KBS Children’s Song Contest, Sieun shared her thoughts: “It made me so happy to watch all these children’s performances, and it was truly meaningful to be part of the birth of so many new songs.”
Meanwhile, Sieun’s group STAYC recently wrapped their STAY TUNED Seoul concert with a sold-out crowd, marking a strong start to their 2025 tour. Beginning in June, they will continue their world tour across 11 cities including Osaka, Tokyo, Jakarta, Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Auckland, Bangkok, Hong Kong, Singapore, and Taipei.
