STAYC has been selected as a global rising artist to lead K-pop at the 2022 Melon Music Awards.

STAYC (Sumin, Sieun, ISA, Seeun, Yoon, J) won the Global Rising Artist Award at the 2022 Melon Music Awards (2022 MMA) held at Gocheok Sky Dome in Seoul on the 26th.

On this day, STAYC performed the title track ‘Beautiful Monster’ of their third single album ‘WE NEED LOVE’. The stage, which heralded a special stage in the intro of the song, made a colorful Saturday night with a spectacular performance that can only be seen at the special awards ceremony.

STAYC expressed their unique sensibility, which has deepened with beautiful dance and delicate choreography with hands. Emotional eyes and facial expressions, especially the point choreography ‘Beaumon Dance’, which expresses monsters by making both hands into a diamond shape and opening them up and opening their fingers, caught audience’s heart.

They peaked in splendor with a dance break that had not been seen other stage. STAYC showed a chic and intense charm in the dance break in the middle of an emotional song. The performance for the award ceremony was presented with various charms.

STAYC was delighted to win the Global Rising Artist Award. Sumin said, “Thank you for the big award. SWITCH, thank you so much. We went abroad this year, and we were happy to meet overseas SWITH and Korean SWITH. We’ll be a STAY who works hard from now on.”

Sieun then said, “Thank you for giving me an award with a good name, Rising Star, which we didn’t expect at all. This year, there is a stage where we can meet each other, so I think we are closer to SWITH. Please take care and stay healthy.” she said.

Meanwhile, STAYC released its Japanese debut single ‘POPPY’ on the 23rd and will officially promote it with the title song ‘POPPY’. They will also continue to be busy until the end of the year, holding overseas fan meetings in Taipei, Taiwan, following Manila, the Philippines, on December 3.
